The 0405-V from Momotaro is the streamlined version of the "SP" series, which typically features the Battle Stripes—two white screen-printed stripes on the right rear pocket, a hallmark of the brand. It is crafted from their exclusive fabric, a 15.7oz weight, made entirely of Zimbabwean cotton. The uniqueness of Zimbabwean cotton lies in its harvesting, which is still done by hand to this day, preserving all the natural qualities and irregularities of the cotton. It is undoubtedly the most iconic fabric offered by Momotaro, known for its dry, stiff feel and slightly fuzzy surface.

The warp thread (outer) has undergone numerous indigo dye baths, achieving a very deep overall shade. The weft thread (inner) is left in its natural white color, providing a bright contrast with the dark outer appearance. With repeated wear and washing, this fabric will develop a unique, ribbed, and textured patina with a typical vintage jeans look, considered vintage today.

The finishing touches are no exception. Most of the seams are done on vintage Union Special machines, like the 43200G for chain stitch. True to form, there is also the signature pink stitching, a hallmark of Momotaro, on the inseam, as well as copper rivets and a vegetable-tanned leather patch.

The 0405 is the High Tapered cut from Momotaro, offering a high, snug waist, a low crotch accompanied by a comfortable thigh opening, finishing with a tapered fall from the knee to the bottom of the leg.
