Since 1989, Yuketen, a brand created and led by Yuki Matsuda, has specialized in the manufacture of leather shoes with a unique style and undeniable quality. It is this distinctive identity that has made the brand renowned worldwide.

The Blucher is one of their most iconic models. Built in line with the standards of manufacturing moccasins and boat shoes from the 1950s, using the same last shapes, it is a true reinterpretation with a more assertive look. This version is crafted in "Cavalier" leather from Horween, a legendary American tannery in operation since 1905. This "Pull-Up" leather, whose hue will evolve with movement due to a tanning process combining vegetable and chrome treatments, is known for its great malleability and increased strength. It is worked into an assembly of 9 layers, with ribbed inserts around the opening and a fringed tongue called "Kiltie," accompanying the leather laces, which can be removed if needed. Unlike other Blucher models, this version also features a piece that encircles the entire lower part of the shoe and joins the toe.

The insole and various parts making up the final assembly are made of vegetable-tanned leather, also from Horween. For better support and greater durability, a steel plate is attached to the insole, before being placed on a memory foam comfort cushion, making the shoe very comfortable in all circumstances.

The shoe is mounted on a Morflex "2021" rubber sole from Vibram, oil-resistant. This wear sole is connected to the shoe by Blake stitching, allowing it to be easily replaced once worn.

Models from Yuketen are handmade using thick cotton threads, coated with beeswax for greater durability. Each pair comes with its own Dust Bag, unique to each model.

Yuketen sizes are slightly large, we recommend going down a half size from your usual size. The brand often advises referencing the size of a pair of New Balance Made In USA.

It's important to remember that handcrafting can lead to variations in size from one model to another. Since the leather is meant to naturally mold to the shape of the foot, it should feel snug at fitting.
