The Japanese Cotton Crew T-Shirt by Samurai Jeans is a heavyweight, textured tee made from cotton grown by the brand in the Sasayama region (Hyogo, Japan). This exclusive cotton, spun from irregular #10 × #20 yarns to create a distinctive slubby texture, is used to produce a dense 16oz fabric full of depth and character.
Knitted in Wakayama and then sewn and dyed in Kyoto, this T-shirt showcases a fully Japanese-made construction process. The collar is reinforced with a triple-needle stitch for superior durability, while the flat seams are sewn using a Union Special 36200 — a vintage machine cherished for its timeless craftsmanship.
The Kuri Light shade is achieved through the same natural dyeing process using “Tamba” chestnuts, but with a lighter, softer finish than the “Dark” version.
