Oni is a mysterious label behind which hides a true enthusiast who has devoted 60 years of his life to denim. Always in search of perfection, Oishi-san is constantly researching and dedicated solely to production. This is why you won't find a website or an official Instagram page for the brand. It is also why the label is distributed only in a few stores around the world and exclusively at Flâneurs for France.

Crafted from American cotton, the Oni label offers us a 13 oz selvedge denim. It is a lighter fabric than those usually offered. A unique feature of this denim is that it was intentionally dyed and then overdyeed multiple times to achieve this deep black hue. A lot of research and testing were necessary to achieve such a result. It is worth noting that this is currently the blackest jean offered by the demon brand. Unlike other jeans from the Japanese label, this one has been sanforized and is not treated with "Tempi" to set the size (washed once, then sun-dried). This sanforization allows for a uniform tint across the entire jean. The fabric is textured, slightly crackling while still being soft to the touch. To reinforce the "Full Black" tint aspect, there are black rivets, black stitching and topstitching, as well as black pocket bags, and a black leather jacron. The red selvedge ID however adds a nice contrast to the overall uniformity.

This Jet Black Oni denim is presented here in Relaxed Tapered, the most popular fit at ONI. It has a mid-rise that fits snugly, followed by a comfortable thigh opening, tapering down from the knee to the lower leg.
