The Elephant 14 "Dirty Elephant" is an extremely robust Japanese 20 oz selvedge denim, combining the bold weight of the Elephant series with the rustic character of one of Naked & Famous’ most iconic fabrics: the Dirty Fade Selvedge. The warp yarns are rope-dyed in indigo over a naturally brown cotton base, which gradually becomes visible as the indigo fades over time.
With wear and washing, the indigo will fade to reveal an earthy brown undertone, offering a rich and pronounced patina reminiscent of vintage jeans. The Elephant series has always been designed for those seeking denim with strong fading potential while still withstanding the most intense use.
The finishes match the mythic reputation of this series: thick 5 oz vegetable-tanned leather patch, pronounced contrast stitching, silver metallic buttons and rivets, and a button fly. The red/white/red selvedge ID mirrors the look of the Dirty Fade Selvedge and adds a subtle but distinctive visual touch.
