Since 1989, Yuketen, a brand created and led by Yuki Matsuda, has specialized in the manufacture of leather shoes with a unique style and undeniable quality. It is this distinct identity that has built the brand's reputation worldwide.

The Blucher is one of their most iconic models. Aligned with the manufacturing standards of moccasins and boat shoes from the 1950s, adopting the same foot shapes, it is a true revisitation with a more assertive look. This version is crafted from Chromexcel leather by Horween, a legendary American tannery in operation since 1905. This "Pull-Up" leather, whose shade will vary with wear due to a blend of vegetable and chrome tanning, is known for its great malleability and increased strength. It is crafted on several levels, with ribbed panels around the opening and a fringed tongue called "Kiltie", accompanying the leather laces, which can be removed as needed.

The insole and the various parts that make up the final assembly are also made of vegetable-tanned leather from Horween. For better support and greater durability, a steel plate is attached to the insole, before it is placed on a memory foam comfort cushion, making the shoe very comfortable in all circumstances.

The shoe is mounted on an EVA rubber sole, specially designed for Yuketen by Vibram, called "Rocker". This outsole is connected to the shoe by Blake stitching, allowing it to be easily replaced once worn out.

Models from Yuketen are entirely handcrafted, using thick cotton threads coated with beeswax for increased durability. Each pair comes with its own Dust Bag, unique to each model.

Yuketen sizes run slightly large, we recommend going half a size down from your usual size. The brand often advises using the size of a pair of New Balance Made In USA as a reference.

It is important to remember that handmade manufacturing may involve some variations in size from one model to another. Since the leather is meant to naturally mold to the shape of the foot, a good fit should be felt when trying them on.
