Since 1950, NISHIGUCHI KUTSUSHITA has been producing warm, comfortable, and soothing socks in Japan. Katsuji Nishiguchi founded the company Knitwin Co. in the prefecture of Nara, starting with just a single manual knitting machine. Since then, the company has continuously expanded through successions and is currently led by Isato Nishiguchi, the third generation.
Their collection is divided into 4 ranges, named after the cities that inspired them: Boston, Prague, Oslo, and Teni.
The Wool Cotton Slab Socks are part of the Boston range. The city of Boston in the United States is home to many baseball fans but primarily a significant working class. Just like any good workwear or footwear, these socks are designed to provide unmatched comfort and increased durability throughout their use.
These two-tone socks are made from flamed wool and cotton yarns, delicately twisted to create a fine ribbed weave. This type of weave gives the socks a wrapping sensation, with the right balance between flexibility and support. The wool and cotton absorbing the dye at different levels result in tone variations, adding a vintage look to the overall two-tone hue.
