Brand

SEUVAS is a young Japanese label based in Kurashiki, Okayama Prefecture. Inspired by workwear and military styles, the brand offers garments made from exceptional Canvas by Takeyari, a local manufacturer that has been producing this material for 130 years. SEUVAS manufactures jackets, shirts, and trousers in natural Canvas in its permanent collection, and each season, it introduces a new capsule with organic dyes like matcha tea, coffee, or charcoal.

Material

The Japanese label naturally opts for a 10oz canvas made in Kojima, Japan. A true signature of the brand since its inception, the canvas is known and recognized for its robustness and durability over time. The texture of the fabric (like fine particles of cotton husks) adds a unique character to this jacket.

Natural Matcha Dyeing

After offering its pieces in "Natural" Canvas (untreated and undyed), SEUVAS has developed them in a beautiful Matcha shade. To do this, the Japanese label uses plant pigments to achieve a soft and subtle dye. After six months of trials, the brand perfected its matcha dyes by combining ancient Japanese techniques with modern technology. The goal is to use a low percentage of chemical dyes to prevent fading and extend fabric durability while minimizing environmental impact. Made in Kojima, the dye uses matcha leaves to create unique textures and varied colors like gray and beige thanks to matcha tannins. Each piece, hand-dyed, incorporates traditional craftsmanship.

Details

Here, the brand presents its interpretation of the famous "Coverall Jacket"! While retaining the features of the traditional work jacket (club collar, three patch pockets including one at the chest, straight fit, etc.), it offers its own version. In the button placket, there is a hand-painted "Amakusa" porcelain button. The details are discreet and subtle, but each holds its significance! The sleeves end with two buttons for easy tightening adjustment. To make the canvas more comfortable from the first wear, and also to prevent any shrinkage, the jacket has been pre-washed by the brand.

Fit

The fit is relatively loose and oversized. It can be worn over a t-shirt, with a hoodie, or in a layered fashion.
