Dubble Works was established over 10 years ago by the Japanese label Warehouse & Co. and is now under the direction of Sankei Meriyasu. Historically, it is a knitwear company founded in 1926, known for manufacturing very high-quality sweatshirts and t-shirts. Indeed, to make their cotton jerseys, they primarily use old circular weaving machines from the 1920s called "loopwheelers".

To create this piece, Dubble Works chose another old, circular industrial machine called "Standwheeler", originally designed and created in Wakayama, Japan. Rare and difficult to operate, only a handful of artisans are capable of running it. The cotton jersey produced by the Standwheelers is very different from the classic loopwheel t-shirts. Indeed, these machines spin a much thicker yarn than usual. This results in a fabric that is both thick and sturdy yet remains breathable. Additionally, the Japanese label integrates shorter fibers from remnants following the combing process into the weave. This addition provides texture and irregularity. It is the "Raffy" yarn, historically the first to be made from recycled cotton.

The Light Indigo shade is obtained through a pigment dyeing process, applied after the garment is made, which gives the fabric a washed look and uneven color that will enhance over time with washing.
