Dubble Works was created over 10 years ago by the Japanese label Warehouse & Co. and is now under the direction of Sankei Meriyasu. Historically, it is a knitwear company founded in 1926, renowned for making high-quality sweatshirts and t-shirts. Indeed, to make their cotton jerseys, they primarily use old 1920s circular loom machines called "loopwheelers".

To create this piece, Dubble Works chose another industrial machine, also old and circular, called "Standwheeler", originally designed and created in Wakayama, Japan. Rare and difficult to operate, only a handful of artisans are capable of running it. The cotton jersey produced by the Standwheelers is very different from the classic loopwheel t-shirts. Indeed, these machines allow for spinning a much thicker yarn than usual. The resulting fabric is both thick and robust yet remains breathable. Moreover, the Japanese label incorporates shorter fibers from remnants following the combing process into the weaving. This addition provides texture and irregularity. It is the Raffy yarn, historically the first made from recycled cotton.
