The Dotsume Umps Pants Ink Black by Jackman is the brand's first pair of pants to use Dotsume Tenjiku, an exceptionally dense and heavy 100% cotton jersey, knitted in Japan from American cotton on traditional circular knitting machines. Inspired by pants worn by baseball umpires, it combines a comfortable construction with a very dense and durable fabric. Its elasticated waistband with drawstring and strongly tapered cut help maintain a clean silhouette despite the volume of the fabric.

Description

Dotsume Tenjiku is a jersey developed from American cotton and slowly knitted on traditional circular knitting machines to achieve an exceptionally high density. Weighing approximately 11.5 oz, the fabric has a dense hand and excellent durability, while retaining the flexibility characteristic of jersey. The slow knitting process produces a consistent and stable fabric designed to retain its shape through wear and washing.

The design of the Dotsume Umps Pants takes its characteristic silhouette from baseball umpire pants around the waist and hips. A large gusset pocket, inspired by pockets once used to store spare baseballs, adds a functional and distinctive detail to the construction. The waistband combines elastic with a drawstring and offers approximately 10 cm of adjustment for a comfortable and secure fit.

Despite the volume and density of the fabric, the leg is tapered towards the hem to maintain a cleaner silhouette. This construction creates a balance between the substantial character of the Dotsume fabric and a more streamlined line when worn.

Fit

The Dotsume Umps Pants have a comfortable fit with room through the hips and thighs, gradually tapering towards the hem. The elasticated waistband with drawstring makes it easy to adjust the fit according to how the pants are worn.
