G.H. Bass

Founded in 1876 by George Henry Bass, G.H. Bass began its story with a man on a simple mission: "To make the best possible shoe for its intended use."

In 1936, the brand elegantly revamped a Norwegian farm shoe, designed for "loafing in the fields," and playfully named it "Weejuns", meaning "moccasin". The world's very first pair of "Penny Loafers" was born.

Worn by presidents and Hollywood legends, the Weejuns have been a staple in some of the most influential subcultures in fashion history.
