Oni is a mysterious label led by a true denim enthusiast who has devoted 60 years of his life to the craft. Always in search of perfection, Oishi-san continuously experiments and focuses solely on production. That’s why there is no official website or Instagram page for the brand. The label is also only available in a few select stores worldwide and exclusively at Flâneurs in France.
While maintaining the authentic touch typical of Oni Denim fabrics, the 222-BKOL jeans are made from lightweight 12.5oz denim crafted on vintage shuttle looms. Thanks to the low-tension weaving, the selvedge fabric is both textured and slightly rough. Its unique color comes from combining a green sulfur-dyed weft (inside) with a black sulfur-dyed warp (outside). Like indigo, this combination will develop a unique patina over time with repeated wear. The bright pink selvedge edge contrasts beautifully with the overall depth of the denim color.
The 222 "Super Wide Straight" from Oni is the brand’s most ambitious fit, following the 200 "Wide Straight". Featuring a very high waist and a generous rear drop, it flows into a wide straight leg from thigh to ankle. This type of silhouette is unusual for Oni, but the founder’s expertise makes it a true success for anyone seeking an exaggerated vintage-inspired wide fit.
This model runs small, we recommend choosing one size above your usual size.
