Shuttle loom
An old-fashioned weaving machine where a shuttle passes the weft thread back and forth across the warp threads. This slower but precise method creates a tightly woven fabric with finished edges that prevent fraying. It is the fundamental technique behind selvedge denim, contrasting with modern projectile looms that produce wider but unfinished edges.
