Selvedge ID

"Selvedge" comes from "self-edge", meaning a self-finished edge with no cutting or overlocking. The selvedge refers to the clean, tightly woven edge of denim fabric, produced on a traditional shuttle loom. This edge prevents the fabric from fraying. In jeans, it is often highlighted by cuffing the hem, revealing a contrasting colored thread—typically red, white, or blue.
