Despite being a relatively recent creation dating back to 2013, Batoner is the proprietary brand of the knitwear company Okuyama Meriyasu founded in the 1950s. Batoner, which means "one who inherits," proudly represents the nearly century-old expertise of Japan's Yamagata prefecture, which for many years housed the best knitting factories in Japan. With only about fifteen still active today, each one strives to perpetuate the techniques and traditions that have made this region famous.

Although specializing in woolen knitwear, Batoner leverages its experience to offer high-quality cotton sweatshirts and t-shirts, designed on particular machines. This Jumberca Urake Pull Parker is slowly knitted on an old German knitting machine called Jumberca, chosen for the fluffy texture it gives to the knit. The yarns used for the outer part of the sweatshirt are air spun to achieve a lightweight feel despite the density, while ensuring a high level of durability. The inside is made from a softer yarn to make the sweatshirt comfortable to wear even though it is not brushed. Unbrushed fabrics offer greater versatility, suitable for wearing in different seasons.

For the cut, Batoner stays true to its standards with a simple and clean silhouette, slightly boxy, generous raglan armholes, and a comfortable hood with drawstrings. The large kangaroo pocket adds a functional touch, ideal for everyday wear, while seamlessly blending with the overall design for a discreet and refined look.
