Rooted in Kardo’s artisanal approach and Flâneurs’ contemporary vision of tailoring, the Taka trousers emphasize intelligent construction and a well-balanced silhouette. They are crafted from 100% handloom cotton, recognizable by subtle variations in texture and shade, giving each piece a unique and artisanal character.
The cut features an inverted pleat that slightly lifts the upper section to provide extra ease across the hips and thighs, while tapering gradually from the knee to the hem for a clean and harmonious line. The elasticated waistband with drawstring ensures optimal comfort while maintaining a refined shape. These trousers feature classic welted back pockets. Entirely handmade by a single tailor, each piece is unique and comes with a label listing the names of the artisans involved in its creation.
The handloom fabric
The trousers are made from handloom cotton, crafted through the artisanal expertise of Kardo. This cotton is woven by hand on traditional looms, thread by thread, creating subtle variations in tension and shade across the fabric, making each piece truly unique. The handloom technique gives the textile a lively, slightly irregular texture that is soft to the touch while offering excellent strength and durability. This manual process also allows precise control over the density and thickness of the woven threads, ensuring a perfect balance of comfort, structure, and aesthetics. Every meter of fabric reflects the artisan’s careful work and the rich tradition of Indian textile craftsmanship, making each pair of trousers an authentic piece.
