REGAL Shoe & Co. is part of the long history of REGAL, one of the major names in Japanese footwear. The company’s origins date back to 1880, when Katsuzo Ise established a Western-style shoemaking business in Tokyo, at a time when this type of footwear was beginning to gain prominence in Japan.
In 1961, Japanese footwear manufacturer Nippon Shoe Co. entered into an agreement with the American Brown Shoe Company to manufacture and sell REGAL shoes in Japan. The brand subsequently accompanied the growing adoption of Western footwear in the country, developing decades of expertise in loafers, derbies and other classics of the men’s wardrobe.
REGAL Shoe & Co. carries this heritage forward through a more contemporary approach. The line reinterprets classic REGAL footwear with particular attention to lasts, leather, soles and construction details, while retaining the understated functionality that has long characterised the brand.
