Inspired by American workwear jackets produced during World War II, the F2467 WWII Denim Chore Coat draws on the simple lines of period models while reinterpreting them through FOB Factory's own silhouette. Its stripped-back construction and boxy fit make it easy to layer, while the 12 oz selvedge denim, woven and dyed using the traditional Japanese Kasezome technique, gives it a deep, nuanced indigo tone.

Description

The F2467 is inspired by rare American workwear jackets from the 1940s, particularly models produced by lesser-known brands during the wartime period. At the time, restrictions on raw materials led to simplified constructions, with elements considered unnecessary being removed.

FOB Factory takes this approach with the F2467 through a deliberately stripped-back construction. The jacket notably features no chest pocket, a choice that gives the piece a cleaner appearance while retaining key elements of its inspiration, such as the large collar and three Laurel Wreath buttons.

The fabric is another defining feature of the jacket. It is made from 12 oz selvedge denim dyed using the traditional Japanese Kasezome technique, also known as hank dyeing. The indigo penetrates deeply into the warp yarns, giving the denim a lighter tone and depth of color that will naturally evolve with wear and washing.

Fit

The boxy fit is deliberately straight and relaxed, with enough room to be worn over a shirt or lightweight sweatshirt. It retains the character of a traditional chore coat while offering a silhouette that is easy to wear on a daily basis.

Why we selected it

For its balance between historical inspiration and contemporary interpretation. Rather than being a literal reproduction of a WWII-era model, FOB Factory retains some of its defining features while simplifying the construction and developing its own silhouette. The 12 oz Kasezome-dyed selvedge denim also offers plenty of character from the start, with strong potential to develop further through wear.
