If you have known Flâneurs for a few years, you are probably already familiar with our Shetland wool sweater made with Gardiner yarn.
It has been part of our collection since 2019 and, over the seasons, has become one of the most representative pieces of our wardrobe.
Originally, this sweater was made in collaboration with Inverallan, a manufacturer known for its expertise in traditional knitwear and its famous hand knitted sweaters. We chose Shetland wool spun by Gardiner for its character, its range of colours and its ability to develop beautifully over time.

When Inverallan's production moved to India, we chose to keep this wool, which had become one of the signatures of our collection, while returning to fully Scottish production.
This led us to work with Harley of Scotland.
Founded in 1929 in Peterhead, Harley of Scotland is one of the leading names in seamless knitwear. This technique makes it possible to create a sweater with virtually no seams, resulting in a softer, more breathable and more comfortable garment than the version we had previously offered.
We also chose a Shaggy finish, which involves gently brushing the surface of the knit. This adds volume, brings out the richness of the colours developed by Gardiner and gives the sweater its characteristic fuzzy appearance.
The change of manufacturer was therefore not intended to transform the product. We wanted to preserve what made it distinctive while improving its construction, comfort and drape.
Over the seasons, the project continued to evolve and the colour palette gradually expanded: first 6 colours, then 9, reaching 12 colours for the FW25 collection.
From a Single Piece to a Collection
As we prepared for Autumn/Winter 2026, we wanted to take things further and expand the collection with accessories developed in the same spirit.
We naturally turned to Mackie, a Scottish manufacturer we have been working with for many years.
Founded in 1845, it is known for its expertise in making hats, scarves and knitted accessories.
The hats and gloves joining the collection are entirely made in Scotland, using natural materials chosen for their comfort and durability.
Our knitwear collection now brought together several Scottish manufacturers, each contributing their expertise to the same approach to product development.
This evolution led us to bring these pieces together under a single name: Flâneurs Knitwear.
Behind the label, the idea remains simple: to gradually build a collection around beautiful materials, working with specialists in their respective fields and developing pieces that we will enjoy wearing for many years.
To mark this new chapter, we have also created a new logo, with labels that retain the graphic codes of previous editions. A new step for the collection, with plenty of ideas already in mind for what comes next.
With the launch coming up on Thursday, September 24, we’re excited to give you a first look at the first three styles from this new collection.
The Shaggy Sweaters
The founding piece of the collection, our Shaggy sweater remains unchanged. Made in Scotland using a seamless construction, it is knitted from Shetland wool known for its warmth, natural durability and lightness.
Its traditional brushing gives it its characteristic fuzzy appearance while preserving the thermal and breathable qualities of the wool.
Available this season in 16 colours, it remains the piece around which the entire collection was built.

The Pittenweem Hats
A natural complement to our Shaggy sweaters, the Pittenweem hats use a lightly brushed wool with a naturally fuzzy appearance and comfortable volume.
Their warmth, texture and colours make them easy to wear alongside the rest of the collection. Entirely made in Scotland, they continue the work around wool and craftsmanship at the heart of Flâneurs Knitwear.
The Weir Gloves
The Weir gloves complete this first collection of accessories with a more functional approach to knitwear.
Made from robust and durable British wool, they are designed for everyday wear while retaining the comfort and natural qualities of the fibre.
Their understated aesthetic makes them a natural addition to the sweaters and hats in the collection.
What Comes Next?
Flâneurs Knitwear is not intended to follow the pace of fleeting seasonal collections.
We prefer to continue building it gradually, season after season, with new materials, new pieces and new expertise whenever it genuinely makes sense.
A collection designed to evolve over time, without losing sight of what defines it: considered, durable and honest products.
