Firmly focused on the accurate reproduction of vintage pieces, Warehouse & Co. offers us the Lot. 3054, a period work shirt that strictly follows the codes of a specific model sold under the label Wide Awake, a New York shirt maker.
The century-old American workwear brand ELBECO is known for its high-quality uniforms for police, firefighters, the US Postal Service, and the security and transportation industries. Their garments are found in the vintage clothing market. The company ELBECO acquired the Wide Awake brand in 1907. The brand name, meaning "wide awake," could then be interpreted as signifying that workers knew exactly what they needed to choose.
This shirt continued to be manufactured and sold under the Wide Awake brand after the acquisition. By nature a workwear shirt, it features 2 chest pockets including a pencil pocket on the left one, real walnut buttons, a neck tape on the inside of the button placket, and seams in a shade reminiscent of the stripes it is made of. The striped fabric is produced according to the specifications of the time and offers a fluid and irregular texture. The selvedge gussets are adorned with a plain white selvedge trim as well as the 2 "run-off" chain stitch seams used to assemble this shirt and enhance its durability.
