A faithful reproduction of a vintage American military work shirt, the Heavy Nel Work Shirt from FOB Factory is crafted from a dense, textured cotton flannel woven using a traditional technique inspired by wool tweed production.
Before weaving, the cotton threads are dyed in different colors and then twisted together, creating a subtle heathered effect and a rich overall tone. This complex weaving process gives the fabric a rustic yet refined character, true to the spirit of vintage workwear shirts.
While staying true to the original design, this shirt has been modernized with a versatile heathered tone, dark discreet topstitching, tonal buttons, two perfectly proportioned chest pockets, and a compact collar that sits neatly under a jacket.
The construction features triple chainstitched seams for enhanced durability, along with the classic "run-off" detail extending from the side gussets. A clean finish strip runs along the placket and inside the collar, completing this contemporary reinterpretation of a menswear essential, in line with the exceptional craftsmanship of Japanese ateliers.
