Dubble Works was established over 10 years ago by the Japanese label Warehouse & Co. and is now led by Sankei Meriyasu. Historically, it is a knitwear company founded in 1926, known for producing high-quality sweatshirts and t-shirts. Indeed, to make their cotton jerseys, they primarily use old circular loom machines from the 1920s called "loopwheelers".

For this piece, Dubbleworks did not use this process, but another old circular industrial machine called "Standwheeler". This machine was originally designed and created in Wakayama, Japan. Rare and difficult to operate, only a handful of artisans are capable of running it. The cotton Jersey produced by Standwheelers is very different compared to loopwheel t-shirts. Indeed, these machines allow spinning a much thicker yarn than the norm. This results in a fabric that is thick, flexible, and soft to the touch. Moreover, the Japanese label integrates shorter fibers (resulting from the fall of some cotton fibers during the combing process) during the knitting, thereby achieving texture and irregularity. This is the Raffy yarn, historically the first made from recycled cotton (short fibers).

This piece features a tubular construction (no side seam). The result is a cotton jersey t-shirt of medium thickness that is robust against wear and washing. Additionally, it will not twist over time. Finally, the sturdiness of the collar, which is relatively wide with thick ribs, is appreciated.

Here, Dubble Works offers this long-sleeved t-shirt in Brick/Khaki: beautiful shades of color achieved with a "Tie Dye" dyeing. This is a handcrafted dye that uses a special technique involving tying some parts of the piece with a string ("to tie") before coloring ("to dye"). It results in a vintage-inspired garment, reminiscent of the hippie spirit during the 1970s.
