Basing its design on the famous double-pleated chino of General Douglas MacArthur of the US Army, Barnstormer specializes in faithful reproductions of US military wardrobe. The Japanese brand has notably partnered with the best factory in Tohoku, which is the leading supplier of military fabrics in Japan.

Barnstormer presents its own version of the famous US Army cargo pants, particularly those worn by American GIs during the Vietnam War, made from a robust ripstop cotton. In the hostile jungle, ripstop was a valuable ally for American soldiers, especially due to a reinforcing technique that made it more resistant to tears. During weaving, stronger (and often thicker) reinforcement threads are interlaced at regular intervals in a hatch pattern. This version, though more dressed-up, is also lighter, featuring a finer and relatively discreet ripstop.

Like the original, these cargo pants consist of six pockets in total: two rear pockets, two side pockets, and two gusseted patch pockets, all closed with snap-button flaps. At the waist, each side features an adjustment tab for easy sizing.

As usual with Barnstormer, more sartorial elements add a formal touch to these cargos, such as the inner waistband, sewn hem at the leg bottom, and the back ease V-notch.

The slightly revised cut offers a high waist and a straight leg from thigh to hem.
