Jackman is a brand by Tanabe Meriyasu, a Japanese manufacturing company based in Fukui, which draws its inspiration from the legacy of its founder: Mitsugu Tanabe.

The Umps Pants design is inspired by sports umpires' trousers ("Umps" for "Umpire"). They feature a loose fit, high at the waist, comfortable around the thigh, and tapering down at the leg, with an intentionally short leg length and an elastic waistband that can be tightened with a drawstring. The 2 front pockets, set at an angle, are accompanied by 2 large buttoned back pockets, pleated to provide more depth and durability.

They are made from a Crepe fabric made from an ultrafine cotton warp and a weft woven with nylon and polyester threads treated. The difference in shrinkage between the cotton and synthetic fibers produces a natural crinkling effect and gives the fabric a crackling texture. This results in an extremely light and thin pair of pants, with good stretchability and quick-drying properties. The yarn itself absorbs moisture, so the pants do not become stifling and can be comfortably worn even in summer.

Thanks to its elastic waistband, adjustable via the drawstring, it is possible to choose the size depending on the desired fit, whether looser or more fitted.
