For the Fall/Winter 2023 season, we are pleased to welcome the women's collection from the American brand Red Wing.

The Red Wing Moc Toe is a classic women's moccasin-style boot made in Red Wing, Minnesota. Standing 6 inches tall, the Moc Toe was originally designed for hunters and farmers in the early 1950s and built to withstand hard labor in tough weather conditions. The name “Moc Toe” derives from the word “Moccasin,” the traditional Algonquian Indian word for the U-shaped toe.

The 3375 is offered in the brand’s most popular leather: Oro Legacy. Because no pigment is added during the finishing process of this leather, its natural character is enhanced and it will develop one of the finest patinas in the Red Wing range.

The characteristic Vibram Cushion Crepe sole, with Traction Tred, provides maximum grip and exceptional comfort.

CAREFULLY ASSEMBLED

Red Wing Heritage shoes are handcrafted in the USA using traditional construction techniques. The brand uses the finest raw materials to create highly durable shoes and boots. It takes over 230 steps to manufacture each pair of shoes.

TANNING

Red Wing Heritage is one of the few companies to own its own tannery: the S.B. Foot Tanning Company in Red Wing, Minnesota.

S.B. Foot prepares the hides and soaks them in wooden drums with oils from trees, tanning agents, and dyes. After soaking, the tanned leathers are rolled, dried, and stretched before undergoing several quality tests and being transported a kilometer further to the Red Wing factory.

This is an essential element as the brand's reputation has largely been built on the robustness, durability, and quality of patina of Red Wing leathers.

CUTTING

The process of making shoes, largely unchanged since the founding of Red Wing, begins with leather cutting. Highly skilled craftsmen carefully place sharp cutting dies on each large piece of leather. Selecting the most quality parts of the leather is a very important step that requires great expertise and a lot of experience.

ASSEMBLY

The cut leather pieces are then meticulously sewn together by experienced operators to form the shoe upper. They work on the same century-old sewing machines that were already in use at the beginning of the Red Wing Shoe Company.

SOLE ATTACHMENT

The outsole is manually stitched to the midsole. This is a complex gesture requiring great precision to ensure that the last step of the shoe construction process is perfectly executed.

GOODYEAR WELTING

Most Red Wing Heritage shoes are manufactured using, it is a mounting method that dates back to 1869. Famous for its durability, the Goodyear welt assembles a thin leather welt with the upper and insole of the shoe. Goodyear welted shoes are also easy to resole, thus ensuring continuous and long-term use.

FINISHING

All shoes are meticulously inspected twice before being packed into shoe boxes. Depending on the type of leather, each shoe is cleaned, polished, brushed, and finished by a dedicated team.
