Patapaca

Patapaca is a sock brand founded in 2017 with a simple idea: to harness the remarkable properties of alpaca wool to create comfortable, functional socks suited to both everyday urban life and outdoor use.

The collections are designed in London and made in Peru, close to the source of this iconic Andean fibre. Patapaca works with artisans, specialist manufacturers and knitting communities, bringing together Peruvian textile craftsmanship, traditional machinery and ongoing material research.

Naturally adapted to the extreme conditions of the Andes, alpaca fibre has a distinctive structure that helps retain warmth in cold conditions while remaining lightweight and breathable. It also absorbs little moisture, helping the socks remain comfortable while naturally limiting the development of odours.

Patapaca develops different weights and fibre blends according to season and use. Its classic styles notably combine 50% alpaca with complementary fibres selected to improve durability, stretch and shape retention. Some collections celebrate the natural undyed shades of alpaca, while others explore colourful melanges, contrasting details and more expressive tones.
