Description

The Signature range expresses the expertise of Batoner and the Okuyama Meriyasu knitting factory, established in 1951 in Sagae, Yamagata Prefecture. The Drivers Knit offers a functional interpretation: a fully zipped cardigan that can be worn open over a T-shirt or fastened beneath a coat, with a pared-back construction that places the knit at the centre of the design.

The proprietary SOLID WOOL yarn is the result of years of development and refinement. Batoner uses worsted wool, with fibres combed and aligned to produce an even yarn, in a richly textured knit. This combination creates clearly defined stitches while retaining the material’s fullness. The yarn is also developed to resist pilling and help the cardigan maintain its shape through regular wear.

The stand collar extends the silhouette and covers the neck when fully fastened. The YKK EXCELLA two-way zip can be opened from the hem to adjust the fit and reveal the layer underneath. Raglan sleeves follow the shoulders naturally and extend the lines of the knit. This version’s grey colour pairs easily with indigo denim, ecru trousers or brown corduroy.

Cut & Fit

The Signature Drivers Knit has a straight cut, described by Batoner as a Standard Fit. Raglan sleeves create a soft line across the upper body, while the full zip allows for different ways of wearing and layering the cardigan.
