The Nylon Ballboy Shirt takes the spirit of a baseball jacket and translates it into a lightweight construction that can be worn as an overshirt or light jacket. Jackman drew inspiration from garments worn by ball boys responsible for retrieving and carrying baseballs around the field, a reference that directly explains the distinctive design of the large side pockets.

The fabric is one of the key features of this piece. The nylon is woven in an Oxford construction, then subjected to an irregular dyeing process and a crinkled finish. In doing so, Jackman aims to recreate the look and feel characteristic of nylon fabrics used in the 1960s: a lightweight material with a slightly dry hand, an irregular surface and a deliberately vintage character.
