SEUVAS is a young Japanese label based in Kurashiki, Okayama Prefecture. The brand draws inspiration from workwear and vintage railway jackets to create modern pieces while respecting local artisanal techniques. This Raglan Coverall Jacket is made from a unique fabric combining linen for the warp and Washi paper for the weft, offering a subtly irregular texture and exceptional comfort.
Washi paper is a natural material with remarkable properties: lightweight, breathable, quick-drying, absorbent, and providing UV protection. Binchōtan charcoal dye gives the fabric deep nuances, highlighting the grain and structure. Binchōtan is a very dense vegetal charcoal, metallic in appearance, made from Ubamegashi oak. It is known for water purification, odor absorption, and excellent thermal properties. Used as a dye base, it provides a unique hand between softness and roughness and develops a patina similar to indigo over time.
Every detail of this jacket — from the raglan sleeves to the collar tab and multiple functional pockets — demonstrates meticulous craftsmanship. It perfectly blends traditional Japanese know-how with Western utility styling. The straight, roomy fit allows it to be worn alone or layered, for a practical and elegant look.
