Description

The Lot 220-A reproduces the XX produced by DENIME from 1988 onwards, with particular attention paid to the fabric and construction details. Its denim was developed with Kurabo based on the brand's historical recipe and uses an irregular "ring-spun" yarn, indigo-dyed using the rope-dyeing process and then woven on vintage GL3 looms.

The yarn preparation and dyeing process were designed to preserve a light-colored core beneath a deep indigo surface. This construction encourages strong contrast over time and allows the denim to develop particularly pronounced fading with wear.

The model features several details characteristic of the first DENIME jeans, including its offset center belt loop, the shape of the back pockets, the triangular bartack at their top, and its leather patch. Its straight fit is inspired by classic XX jeans while incorporating adjustments intended to make it easier to wear on a daily basis.

But it is above all its packaging that sets this edition apart. As the denim used for the Lot 220-A reached the end of its production, DENIME chose to preserve the remaining pairs under vacuum. The Lot 220-A fabric was developed and produced with Kurabo at the Anjo mill, whose operations came to an end after more than 70 years of history. With the closure of this mill, this denim, specially developed to reproduce that of the first DENIME jeans, will no longer be produced in its current form. The final metres of fabric have therefore been used to create a limited series, with the vacuum-sealed pairs preserving a trace of this production. The jeans are thus kept in their raw state, sealed in their packaging like a true time capsule.

The choice now belongs to their owner: keep the jeans vacuum-sealed as a collector's piece, or open the packaging and start wearing them, allowing the denim to gradually evolve. In either case, the packaging is an integral part of the story behind this particularly rare edition.

Fit

The Lot 220-A features a straight fit, inspired by classic XX jeans. The model is offered in its raw version and has not been pre-washed. It is therefore expected to shrink after the first wash.

We recommend referring to the measurement chart for the raw state when choosing your size, then to the after wash measurements to understand how the model is expected to change.

Why we selected it

The Lot 220-A Vacuum Packed is a unique piece in the recent history of DENIME. Its denim reproduces that of the brand's early XX jeans, but it is the vacuum-sealed presentation that gives it an additional dimension: it can be worn and aged like any great pair of raw denim jeans, or remain sealed and preserved as a collector's item.

A rather rare way to buy a pair of jeans: choosing for yourself between preserving a piece of DENIME history or opening it to write your own.
