This jean is made from a 13.75oz Japanese selvedge denim which, despite its medium thickness, has a very rigid feel. This is due to the weaving technique used in its production. The "Left Hand Twill" is a "left-handed" weave, done in the opposite direction of a traditional "right-handed" weave ("Right Hand Twill").

This gives the fabric a smoother and especially more rigid feel. Once you put the jeans on, you will notice that the crease marks are much more pronounced than on traditional denim fabric. Over time and with wear, this allows for very contrasting fades, especially if you space out washings as much as possible. The Left Hand weave also provides a softer feel after washing.

This makes it a mid-season jean, easy to wear all year round, which will develop a more distinct patina than other fabrics of the same thickness. It is a model we have been offering for years, especially to customers who want to invest in their first pair of selvedge jeans.
