With the 622-GC15, ONI Denim revisits the aesthetics of vintage denim through a particularly textured 15oz Green Cast Denim. Its slightly greenish indigo shade recalls the appearance of vintage denim whose indigo has gradually oxidised, while the very low-tension weaving gives the fabric a pronounced texture and rough hand. Combined with the Relaxed Tapered fit, this fabric offers a fuller silhouette through the upper leg that gradually tapers towards the hem, as well as a denim that will gradually evolve with wear.

Description

ONI Denim remains one of Japan's most enigmatic denim makers. Behind the name is Oishi-san, an artisan who has devoted more than six decades to developing increasingly distinctive denim fabrics. Rejecting conventional marketing practices, the brand has neither an official website nor social media presence and focuses exclusively on creating original fabrics. This philosophy is partly why ONI productions remain relatively confidential and highly sought after by denim enthusiasts around the world.

The 15oz Green Cast Denim used for the 622-GC15 is distinguished by its slightly greenish indigo shade. This colour is achieved by adding green-based dyes during the final stage of the indigo dyeing process. The result recalls the appearance of certain vintage denims whose indigo has gradually oxidised over the years.

The fabric also stands out for its construction. The yarns are woven on a shuttle loom set to extremely low tension, with the weaving process carried out slowly. This method produces a particularly rough and irregular texture characteristic of this denim. Despite its 15oz weight, the fabric therefore has a very pronounced construction and texture.

The 622-GC15 is offered in One Wash. The jeans have therefore already been washed before being released and can be worn immediately. The colour and texture of the Green Cast Denim will gradually evolve with wear and washing, allowing the denim to develop greater contrast over time.

Fit

The 622-GC15 features a Relaxed Tapered fit. Roomier through the hips and thighs, the cut gradually tapers towards the lower leg to create a narrower opening. This construction combines more volume through the upper part of the jeans with a more tapered line towards the hem. As the jeans are offered in One Wash, they have already been washed before being released. We recommend choosing your usual size.
