Description

The Shaggy Dog Crew Neck is a faithful interpretation of the classic Shetland sweater from J. Press. Named Shaggy Dog by Irving Press, the founder's son, after the coat of the dog he owned at the time, this style has become one of the brand's iconic pieces over the years.

Knitted in 5-gauge Scottish Shetland wool, the sweater has a dense and warm knit that is particularly well suited to the colder season. Its surface is then teasel brushed, a traditional technique that raises the fibres of the wool to create the soft, fuzzy and slightly irregular appearance characteristic of Shaggy Dog sweaters.

Made in Japan in collaboration with Yonetomi Seni, a knitwear manufacturer founded in 1952 in Yamagata and renowned for the quality of its craftsmanship, the model combines traditional materials and construction with particularly refined Japanese manufacturing.

Its crew neck and saddle shoulder construction remain faithful to the spirit of the classic Shetland sweater. Its slightly relaxed fit makes it easy to wear on its own or as a layering piece.
