SEUVAS is a young Japanese label based in Kurashiki, Okayama Prefecture. The brand draws inspiration from classic workwear and hunting jackets, reinterpreting these codes with exceptional artisanal craftsmanship.
This Plaid Comfy Shirt is a hybrid piece, between a jacket and a shirt, featuring a plaid pattern reminiscent of traditional Scottish Blackwatch tartan. The garment is over-dyed after construction using the traditional Japanese Kakishibu method, employing fermented persimmon extract (tannins). Combined with a pre-wash and sun drying, this technique gives the fabric a deep color and a unique texture. Initially slightly stiff, the fabric naturally softens after the first wash, gradually developing a subtle patina over time.
Designed to combine comfort with Japanese textile expertise, it is cut in a boxy, oversize shape. Its wide body and slightly short length, together with the chevron cords at the hem for adjustable fit, ensure a relaxed yet structured look. The buttoned cuffs, large patch side pockets, and chest pocket add practical utility for everyday wear.
This jacket fits true to size. You can choose your usual size.
