This pair of Check & Step socks from ROTOTO is manufactured using old knitting machines and a blend of organic cotton yarns and synthetic materials, offering both softness and durability. Its design features a mix of vintage patterns, scaled and knitted in a way that eliminates one of the common issues with Jacquard socks, namely the lack of horizontal elasticity. The numerous internal threads resulting from this type of weaving are also eliminated, making the sock comfortable.

ROTOTO socks are produced in Japan's largest sock-producing region, Nara Prefecture. The area has been known for its quality textiles since the 17th century. The industrial production of socks was first introduced in 1910, when a man from the former village of Umami (now Koryocho) imported a weaving machine from the United States to his hometown after studying abroad.

ROTOTO places great importance on collaboration in its product research: "We start by selecting the right yarns with craftsmen to develop the design of a new material. After that, we choose the knitting machines based on the type of material and the product's use. This might involve rare machines that have a specific use, old non-computerized knitting machines, or, on the contrary, modern high-tech tools."

The ROTOTO socks can only be made by combining the right materials, the right machine, and the craftsman's expertise.
