Behind its apparent simplicity lies a demanding Japanese manufacturing process, combining a dense 7.5oz cotton jersey, a construction without side seams and a pigment dye in a slightly faded amber orange tone, designed to evolve over the years. Description

Behind XX Development are Taichi and Kentaro, two vintage clothing enthusiasts whose goal is to reproduce American wardrobe essentials as faithfully as possible. The SURE MFG collection was born from this approach, with each model developed following an in-depth study of vintage T-shirts, right down to the smallest details of their construction. Even the adhesive label found on each piece is a nod to American productions from the era.

The T-shirt is made using a tubular construction, meaning there are no side seams. This increasingly rare manufacturing method improves comfort while staying true to the construction of vintage T-shirts. It is complemented by a reinforced collar, designed to retain its shape despite repeated washing and years of wear.

The fabric plays a major role in the character of the model. The 7.5oz cotton jersey is made from fibres sourced from BD Yarns, an Indian spinner renowned for producing cottons that are both robust, slightly dry to the touch and particularly durable. This mid-weight fabric offers an excellent balance of structure, comfort and durability, allowing the T-shirt to retain a solid shape without feeling excessively heavy.

The Umber colourway features a slightly faded amber orange tone with a soft, naturally worn-in appearance. Each piece is given a Loud Pigment pigment dye before receiving a pre-wash (One Wash). This process gives the fabric depth and subtle tonal variation, reinforcing its vintage character. Like the finest vintage garments, the colour will naturally evolve with wear and washing, gradually developing a unique patina.
