Description

Founded by Taichi and Kentaro, XX Development is driven by a passion for faithfully recreating the finest examples of vintage American clothing. The SURE MFG collection embodies this philosophy, with each garment developed through the meticulous examination of original vintage T-shirts, down to the smallest construction details. Even the removable sticker attached to each piece pays tribute to the packaging of classic American-made garments.

The T-shirt features a traditional tubular construction, meaning it is knitted without side seams. Once standard on vintage American T-shirts but now increasingly rare, this method provides a more comfortable fit while remaining true to the original garments that inspired it. It is complemented by a reinforced ribbed collar and ribbed cuffs, both designed to retain their shape through years of regular wear and repeated washing.

The fabric plays an equally important role in defining the character of the garment. The 7.5oz cotton jersey is knitted using yarns supplied by BD Yarns, a renowned Indian spinner recognised for producing cotton with a slightly dry hand, excellent durability and remarkable character. This mid-weight fabric offers the perfect balance between structure, comfort and longevity, allowing the T-shirt to hold its shape without feeling overly heavy.

Each piece is then finished with a Loud Pigment dye before undergoing a One Wash treatment. This process gives the fabric a rich depth of colour and a subtly faded appearance from day one. Like the finest vintage garments, the colour will continue to evolve naturally through wear and washing, developing a unique patina that reflects the life of the garment.
