Dubble Works was created over 10 years ago by the Japanese label Warehouse & Co. and is now under the direction of Sankei Meriyasu. Historically, it is a knitwear company founded in 1926, renowned for producing very high-quality sweatshirts and t-shirts. To make their cotton jerseys, they primarily use old circular knitting machines from the 1920s called "loopwheelers".

To create this piece, Dubble Works chose another industrial machine, also old and circular, called the "Standwheeler", originally designed and made in Wakayama, Japan. Rare and difficult to operate, only a handful of craftsmen can run it. The cotton jersey produced by the Standwheelers is very different from standard loopwheel t-shirts. These machines allow for spinning a yarn much thicker than usual, resulting in a fabric that is both thick and durable while remaining breathable. Additionally, the Japanese label incorporates shorter fibers from leftover combing waste into the weave. This adds texture and irregularity. This yarn is called Raffy, historically the first made from recycled cotton.

This Indigo version, like the pigment-dyed models, will naturally evolve over time, developing a unique patina with each wear and wash.
