This "Wide Tapered" model from Japan Blue is a new design focused on volume, featuring a high waist, comfortable thigh space, and a slightly adjusted fall from the knee ending in a straight leg opening. The five-pocket style resembles that of jeans, while the addition of a dart on each side of the waist accentuates its oval shape for more ease in movement and seating. To add to the dynamism of these pants, their leg length is intentionally cropped, shorter than usual.
They are crafted from an exclusive fabric to Japan Blue, marking its grand return after several seasons' absence: the Tweed Denim. Made from an indigo-dyed mixed yarn, its texture is intended to be "fuzzy" and airy, similar to tweed but without using wool. Its 12oz weight makes it warm enough for the winter season, but its slightly open weave also suits it for use throughout the rest of the year.
Just like more traditional denim, its indigo dye will fade with use, revealing varied indigo shades and asserting its unique texture more boldly.
