SEUVAS is a young Japanese label based in Kurashiki, Okayama Prefecture. Drawing inspiration from workwear and military garments, the brand creates clothing using the exceptional canvas produced by Takeyari, a local manufacturer that has been weaving this fabric for over 130 years. In its permanent collection, SEUVAS offers jackets, shirts, and pants made from natural canvas, all cut and sewn in-house at its own Kurashiki workshop using vintage sewing machines.

The 2Tuck Tapered Pants by SEUVAS feature a versatile carrot silhouette with a mid-rise waist, generous room through the thigh, and a gentle taper from the knee down. The apparent simplicity of the trousers is elevated by subtle details such as the double-button waistband, belt loops combined with a drawstring, and the neatly finished interior label — all presented in an authentic shade that reflects the natural color of cotton.

This version belongs to the new capsule collection featuring the natural Sumi Dye. The Sumi dye (墨染め, Sumizome) is a traditional Japanese dyeing technique using black ink, practiced for centuries to color fabrics, paper, and wood. It is made from soot derived from pine, bamboo, or vegetable oil, blended with natural binders such as animal glue (nikawa), and sometimes enriched with mineral or plant-based additives to achieve the desired tone.
