The Gentle Pants from Sugar & Co. are a type of slacks, meaning tailored yet comfortable pants with a slightly tapered straight-leg fit. Designed to celebrate the brand’s 5th anniversary, they blend vintage Japanese style with the contemporary spirit of Sugar & Co., offering a perfect balance between sophistication and relaxed wear.
Made from extra-long fiber Supima cotton, spun with an irregular texture and rope-dyed in sulfide black, this denim is woven on vintage looms with minimal tension. The resulting fabric is soft, supple, and slightly irregular, providing exceptional comfort and an authentic texture.
The raw denim used for these Gentle Pants, pre-washed to stabilize the size, will naturally develop a unique vintage character over time and through wear. Despite the technical challenge of using selvedge edges on the outer seams, the patterns and stitching have been carefully adjusted to preserve the slacks silhouette while maintaining the heritage dimension cherished by the Japanese label.
