Rooted in Kardo’s artisanal approach and Flâneurs’ contemporary vision of tailoring, the Taka trousers emphasize intelligent construction and a well-balanced silhouette. Crafted from medium-weight 100% cotton fine-wale corduroy, they stand out thanks to their Block Print patterns, a traditional Indian technique applied entirely by hand.

An inverted pleat subtly lifts the upper section to provide greater ease through the hips and thighs, while the leg tapers gradually from the knee to the hem for a clean and harmonious line. The elasticated waistband with drawstring ensures optimal comfort while maintaining a refined shape. These trousers feature classic welted back pockets and a floral embroidery placed beneath the left pocket, depicting a lotus flower—a powerful symbol of purity and renewal in Indian culture. Entirely handmade by a single tailor, each piece is unique and comes with a label listing the names of the artisans involved in its creation.

What is Block Print?

The fabric used for this model features a uniform, colorfast base onto which patterns are applied using the Block Print technique. This artisanal process involves hand-carving motifs into wooden blocks, which are then dipped into natural dyes and stamped onto the fabric. Each block creates a unique pattern, resulting in variations from one garment to another. It is a time-consuming method that often requires several blocks for a single design, demanding patience and precision in the layering of prints.
