Jackman is the brand of Tanabe Meriyasu, a Japanese manufacturer based in Fukui, drawing inspiration from the legacy of its founder: Mitsugu Tanabe.

The Sashiko Umps Pants are inspired by baseball umpire pants ("Umps" for "Umpire"). They feature a loose fit, wide at the waist and comfortable through the thighs, tapering slightly toward the leg opening. The elastic waistband is adjustable with a drawstring, allowing for a more relaxed or tailored fit. Two slanted front pockets are complemented by two large back pockets, providing depth and functionality.

The fabric is a modern reinterpretation of traditional sashiko, produced by a kendo equipment workshop founded in 1918. Cotton yarn (size 20) is heavily twisted and woven on a special loom to create a pronounced textured relief. The fabric is then treated with paraffin wax and biologically washed to soften the hand feel, making it comfortable to wear while maintaining durability.

Thanks to the elastic waistband and drawstring, the pants can easily be adjusted to achieve the desired fit, creating a silhouette that is both relaxed and elegant.
