The Red Wing Moc Toe is an iconic moccasin-style boot made by Red Wing Shoes in Red Wing, Minnesota. Standing 6 inches high, it was originally designed in the early 1950s for hunters and farmers, built to withstand demanding work in harsh weather conditions. The name “Moc Toe” comes from “moccasin,” inspired by traditional Native American footwear known for its U-shaped toe stitching.

Description

With the Moc Toe 8833, Red Wing Shoes offers a limited edition of its iconic model. Originally released in Japan under the reference 8173, this version became so popular that a special production run was later made for Europe in very limited quantities, available only through a select number of retailers.

The Hawthorne Abilene leather is a so-called “Rough Out” leather, meaning the flesh side of the hide is used on the outside, creating a raw suede-like surface. This construction provides excellent breathability, good weather resistance, and a natural aging process. It requires minimal maintenance, mainly waterproofing treatment and a nubuck eraser to remove marks and stains.

The Traction Tred outsole delivers exceptional walking comfort and reliable grip, making this Moc Toe a benchmark in everyday workwear comfort.
