Description

The Lancaster Gilet is the sleeveless version of the Lancaster Jacket from Universal Works. The brand takes the functional codes of traditional workwear and reinterprets them in a construction designed primarily for comfort and layering.

The piece is made from Bouclet Fleece, a slightly felted knit made from tightly looped fibres that give it a particularly rich texture. The mix of tonal shades adds depth to the surface while retaining a lightweight and insulating construction.

The construction of the Lancaster Gilet remains deliberately simple and functional. Its button fastening is combined with a low-cut neckline, a patch chest pocket and two large lower pockets, providing convenient storage for everyday essentials.

Jersey finishes around the armholes and hem provide additional comfort while reinforcing the relaxed character of the piece. Being sleeveless, the gilet makes an especially easy additional layer to wear underneath a jacket or over a shirt, sweatshirt or lightweight sweater.

The Brown colour particularly highlights the texture of the Bouclet Fleece, with its warm, natural brown tones that are easy to combine with the earthy colours of an autumn-winter wardrobe.
