Description

With the Lot S1003XX-LTD, Warehouse & Co. focuses on a particular period in the history of American denim: jeans produced during World War II, when restrictions on raw materials had a significant impact on their design.

These constraints led to the simplification of certain elements that were normally found on jeans of the period. Warehouse & Co. has chosen to faithfully reproduce this construction, drawing on vintage pieces and the manufacturing standards of the era. The model features iron buttons, copper-plated iron rivets, specific belt loops and a vegetable-tanned deerskin patch.

The flannel pocket bags are one of the model's most distinctive details. The use of materials available during this period contributes to the particular aesthetic of wartime jeans, while the combination of different thread colors reproduces the irregularities that could be found on original productions. The back pocket also features painted arcuate stitching rather than sewn stitching, another characteristic detail found on some jeans from this period.

The denim itself was also specifically developed for this model. It is a 6.7 × 6.7 Japanese selvedge denim weighing approximately 14oz, featuring brown cotton in the weft and recognizable by its pink and white selvedge ID. This particular composition gives the denim a distinctive tone and texture that will gradually evolve with wear, while the brown weft contributes to a warmer appearance as the indigo fades.

Fit

The Lot S1003XX-LTD features a straight fit inspired by 1940s jeans, with a relatively high rise, a comfortable thigh and a leg that maintains a straight line down to the opening. The deliberately generous silhouette reflects the proportions of American work jeans from the period.

Offered in its unwashed and unsanforized state, the denim is expected to shrink after the first wash. The inseam can lose approximately 6 to 7 cm, while the waist can shrink by approximately 4 to 5 cm, depending on the washing method. The denim will then gradually relax with wear, particularly around the waist. It is therefore important to take the expected shrinkage into account when choosing your size. We recommend referring to the measurement chart for the UNWASHED version.
