For the past three years, we have been working with the Japanese manufacturer XX Development to bring the Revival Denim project to life. The original idea was to revive the very first pair of jeans made by Pony, the brand’s founder, over twenty years ago. The project began with the search for the original fabric, before reintroducing it into production.

This fabric was originally created during a particularly challenging period for the Japanese denim industry. It reflects a desire to develop a different kind of denim, incorporating distinctly Japanese details, without conforming to market expectations.

This selvedge denim, featuring a distinctive slubby texture and woven at low tension on shuttle looms, was produced specifically for the Revival Denim series.

Three fits were exclusively designed and developed for this project — Tapered, Regular and Baggy — to suit different styles while placing the fabric at the heart of the project.

Produced in a limited edition of 200 pieces, the Revival Denim series marks an important milestone for Flâneurs.

To mark the release, a Q&A session was organized. In this video, Pony, Jasmine and Bouzu discuss the origins of the project, the choice of denim, the manufacturing process, as well as the friendship and ties between France and Japan, offering a unique insight into the collaborative work carried out with one of our favorite labels.
