The F153 5P is crafted from American Supima cotton, known for its extra-long, stable fibers. This denim is woven at the renowned Nihon Menpu mill in Ibara, using a vintage RIKI-SHOKKI shuttle loom. Supima cotton is 40% stronger than regular cotton and readily absorbs indigo. The fabric is made with #6 warp and weft yarns, weighing 14.75 oz, making it suitable for year-round wear. For this black version, the sulfur-dyeing process is repeated 8 times and then hand-faded by skilled artisans, one jean at a time. Each pair is therefore unique, paying tribute to the vintage jeans that Americans left in Japan after the war.
It features a refined straight fit, with a high-rise waist that sits snugly, comfortable thigh room, and a tapered leg from the knee to the hem.
Construction details are meticulously executed, including a vegetable-tanned deerskin patch, button fly with steel buttons, copper rivets at stress points, and chain-stitched seams made on the renowned Union Special 43200G.
This model runs small, so we recommend choosing one to two sizes larger than your usual size.
