Samurai Jeans is a Japanese brand renowned for its artisanal mastery of denim and heavy fabrics produced in Japan. Each pair is made from high-quality Japanese cotton and woven on vintage shuttle looms, offering exceptional texture, durability, and fade potential.
For the S500AX 18oz “Ai‑Plus”, Samurai uses a special indigo x indigo rope dyeing technique combining natural and synthetic indigo. The warp is made from high-twist, rough, and uneven yarn, while the weft uses a slubby yarn partially made from their organic “Samurai Cotton”, handgrown in Japan. Japanese cotton, with its relatively short fibers, gives a neppy and raw look which, combined with the rich indigo, creates a unique color depth impossible to achieve with indigo alone.
The Regular Straight fit provides perfect balance: roomy at the thigh and straight to the ankle, offering a classic and versatile silhouette. Sophisticated details include silver-covered iron “Taiko” buttons, copper rivets, exclusive jacquard pocket lining, and a sheep leather patch. The selvedge line is also woven with this unique denim, allowing its color to naturally fade over time, wear, and washes, enhancing the artisanal and premium character of the jeans.
